Newsletter Overview
February 2025 saw a rise in governance activity within the Illuvium DAO, with both the Illuvium Main Council (IMC) and Illuvium Community Council (ICC) focusing on financial sustainability, governance improvements, and player engagement.
The IMC prioritized runway management, capital raise opportunities, and cost optimizations while advancing key development projects like Fuel Overhaul, Automated Drone Runs, and Multiplayer Server enhancements. Additionally, discussions began on MMO Lite, a forward-looking initiative to refine the game's scope and player experience.
Meanwhile, the ICC tackled governance structure refinements, proposal revisions, and transparency improvements. Discussions centered on council pay adjustments, governance documentation updates, and increasing community engagement. Additionally, the ICC addressed concerns regarding Illuvium Beyond Wave 3 rewards, the resignation and transition of council members, and the reinstatement of the Leaks channel.
A number of key governance proposals were voted on throughout the month, reflecting the community’s continued participation in shaping the DAO’s future.
Illuvium Main Council (IMC) Review

The IMC discussions in February focused heavily on financial sustainability and operational efficiency, particularly regarding runway management, capital raising, and cost optimization. These conversations were crucial for ensuring the longevity and scalability of Illuvium’s ecosystem.
Key updates included:
Fuel Overhaul Progress – Refinements to in-game fuel mechanics.
Major Overworld Changes – Improvements to gameplay and mechanics.
Automated Drone Run & Stripe Integration – Ensuring smooth transactions.
Multiplayer Server Enhancements – Addressing performance and stability.
Illuvium Beyond Wave 3 Leaderboard Sentiment – Acknowledging player concerns and feedback.
Additionally, early-stage discussions began on MMO Lite, with a focus group being formed to align the project’s scope with player feedback and strategic priorities.
Illuvium Community Council (ICC) Review

The ICC remained highly active in February, focusing on governance refinements, proposal discussions, and transparency improvements. The council addressed critical topics including council pay structures, governance documentation, community engagement, and resignation procedures.
Key Discussions and Decisions:
1. Council Member Transition & Resignation Process
Fight4Eth announced his resignation, with his final date being March 7th.
The ICC debated how to handle council pay for resigning members and reviewed the resignation process (GCCP-3).
2. Governance Documentation & Structural Updates
Governance V3.1 improvements with a focus on refining proposal structures and ensuring better documentation. and also V4 overhaul discussions continued, exploring possible council disbandment, increased responsibilities, and potential pay reductions.
Emergency governance proposal handling was reviewed to increase transparency and streamline decision-making.
3. Illuvium Beyond & Community Engagement
Leaderboard reward concerns were discussed, particularly whether the exclusive Rhamphite Illuvitar reward should be extended to the top 10 players instead of only the top 5.
Discussions were held on whether to increase time between Beyond waves to improve content rollout and stability.
The Illuvium Labs Weekly Q&A thread received positive feedback, with suggestions for more detailed responses and improvements in format.
4. Multiplayer Server & Game Balancing
Optimism was shared about a potential Multiplayer Server launch next month.
Concerns regarding server lag and performance issues were discussed, with ongoing improvements being made.
The importance of community input in game balancing was emphasized, with proposals for a focus group to discuss mechanics and balance rather than just bug reports.
5. Council Pay & Responsibilities
The ICC debated whether to eliminate or reduce council pay, with some members arguing that compensation should be tied to responsibilities and voting participation.
Proposed updates to council requirements included mandatory weekly meetings, attendance tracking, and better documentation of accomplishments.
6. Governance Process & Voting Improvements
Work continued on improving governance voting structures, with a focus group being set up to analyze governance challenges and develop long-term solutions.
Onboarding and role clarity for new governance members was reviewed to ensure efficiency and continuity.

[DECLINED] GCCP-3 Temporary Re-Allocation of Council Payment Funds to Community Streamers
A proposal to redirect council payment funds to support community streamers was voted down, as concerns were raised about budget allocations and governance priorities.
[PASSED] IIP-EP-1 Illuvium - Fuel Exchange and Economic Model Rework
This proposal introduced major refinements to the in-game fuel economy, improving stability, pricing mechanisms, and long-term sustainability.
Major Governance Discussions & Community Engagement
Reinstating the Leaks Channel
The Leaks channel was brought back, confirmed by a post from Rogier.
This move was welcomed by the community, as it aligns with past discussions about increasing transparency and player engagement.
Council Town Hall & Community Engagement
The next Town Hall is being planned to address governance changes, voting updates, and player concerns.
The ICC and IMC are preparing communication strategies to ensure the community remains informed about ongoing developments.
