Fuel Refunds in Illuvium: What You Need to Know
With the recent Fuel Migration complete, many of you have asked about refunds for fuel purchased. This post is your go-to guide for understanding how the refund works, who’s eligible, and what to do next.
Why Are Refunds Being Offered?
As outlined in IIP-74, the original fuel system didn’t include a pricing floor. This meant that some players could purchase fuel at a very low price. The DAO voted to offer refunds to those who acquired fuel under these conditions to ensure fairness and protect the game’s long-term balance.
Who Is Eligible for a Refund?
To qualify for a refund:
You purchased Fuel below 0.00000065 ETH per unit (25% of the max rail price).
You used the Send Fuel to Self function when the average price was below 25% of the top rail.
The Fuel has been migrated from your Illuvium Zero account.
The Fuel has not been spent.
You request the refund within 60 days of the migration.
Note: Only one refund request per person will be accepted. Partial refunds will not be processed.
Clarification: All Fuel "transferred to self"—including auto-migrated Fuel—will be refunded at 25% of the top rail price.
Examples of Refund Eligibility
Example 1:
• Fuel purchased above 0.00000065 ETH User A bought 1 Fuel at 0.00025 ETH.
• Refund: Not eligible
Example 2:
• Fuel purchased below 0.00000065 ETH User B bought 1 Fuel at 0.00000060 ETH.
• Refund: Eligible for 0.00000060 ETH
Example 3:
• Fuel sent to self User C transferred 1 Fuel from the plot to Passport.
• Refund: Eligible for 0.00000065 ETH
Example 4:
• Auto-migrated Fuel User D had 1001 Crypton on their plot. 1 Crypton was automatically moved to Passport
• Refund: Eligible for 0.00000065 ETH
Example 5:
• Fuel eligible for a refund and partially spent User E bought 2 Fuel for 0.00000120 ETH total but spent 1 Fuel already.
• Refund: Eligible for 1 Fuel at 0.00000060 ETH
How to Request a Refund
Contact our support team through the official Illuvium support channel on Zendesk here. Include the following details:
Your Illuvium Username
Your Passport Wallet Address
We will review your purchase history and verify your eligibility. Approved refunds will be issued to the original purchasing wallet.
FAQs
Can I get a partial refund?
• No. All eligible fuel will be fully refunded only if the conditions are met.
How long will the refund process take?
• Processing times may vary depending on the number of requests. We aim to complete all refunds within a few weeks of the migration.
Can I still spend my fuel and get a refund?
• Yes, you may spend your FUEL, but you must maintain your minimum FUEL threshold at the time of the refund to receive the full refund.
What if I miss the 60-day deadline?
• Unfortunately, we won’t be able to process requests submitted more than 60 days from April 1st 2025.
Can I request a refund for fuel transferred from my land plot to my Passport Account?
• Yes, if the transfer occurred below the minimum price and the fuel hasn’t been spent.

This refund is a corrective step approved by the DAO to ensure fairness during the transition to the new Unified Fuel system. It allows the Illuvium economy to move forward sustainably while respecting community contributions and past purchases.

Eligible wallet addresses
The minimum fuel balance required to qualify for the refund
The exact refund amount per wallet
