Illuvium: Arena 0.4.0 Patch Notes
Welcome to Arena 0.4.0! In this patch, we are completely changing the way you create your teams - you now have to get the Illuvials in Overworld! We also have 6 new Illuvial Lines joining our games, and many Balancing changes have been done to Illuvials, Synergies and Augments. We are curious to see how things will shape up and hear your feedback on all of these!
General Gameplay Changes
Team Builder
In order to have access to Illuvials, Gear and Weapons, you have to get them in Overworld.
There will be a Free Rotation of Illuvials, Gear and Weapons that any player can use freely.
The Starter Decks will also still be available for players to use.
Mastery Points
We lowered the amount of Mastery Points gained per Round.
We aimed to have around 200 Less Mastery Points by Round 6.
This should be enough to restrict players from freely placing anything they wish, at least for the first rounds. We’ll be keeping an eye and will further adjust if needed.
Ascension Tokens
We modified the amount of Ascension Tokens received.
Now you receive 1 Token/round before the first Legendary Bidding Phase, 2 Tokens/round between the two Legendary Bidding Phases and 3 Tokens/round after the second Legendary Bidding Phase.
The aim of this is to restrict the early game from ramping too fast, while also ensuring that players are able to fully Ascend their board if the games go for too long.
Ascension System
Illuvials can now easily be Ascended by pressing the blue button on their Icons.
Illuvials can no longer be Ascended via Right-Clicking.
New Illuvials
Drop Bear Line
The Drop Bear line features a Tier 1 Fire Rogue Illuvial that becomes a Predator on Stage2, and then a Wildfire on Stage3.
Fennec Fox Line
The Fennec Fox line features a Tier 3 Air Empath Illuvial that becomes Dust on Stage2, and then an Enchanter on Stage3.
Mammoth Line
The Mammoth line features a Tier 4 Air Psion Illuvial that becomes a Tempest on Stage2, and then a Harbinger on Stage3.
Poodle Moth Line
The Poodle Moth line features a Tier 3 Fire Psion Illuvial that becomes Inferno on Stage2, and then a Phantom on Stage3.
Red Panda Line
The Red Panda line features a Tier 1 Fire Fighter Illuvial that becomes a Templar on Stage2, and then Shock on Stage3.
Tree Kangaroo Line
Tree Kangaroo line features a Tier 1 Fire Rogue Illuvial that becomes Revenant on Stage2, and then Shock on Stage3.
Illuvial Adjustments
Pterodactyl Line
With the addition of a brand new Inferno Phantom Illuvial, Pterodactyl can tap into its potential much easier than before. These being said, we are increasing the Energy required for Omega, and lowering its Damage.
Sea Scorpion Line
Sea Scorpion’s Omega Cast Time was too long, resulting in an overall DPS loss when reaching high Attack Speed. We’re lowering its Cast Time to better match with its attacks, even at high Attack Speed.
Anteater Line
We are doing small adjustments on Anteater’s Omega to make it feel more responsive.
Monkier Line
Monkier is able to reach high amounts of damage after only a few attacks. We are reducing its Base Attack Damage a little.
Tenrec Line
Now that we have a new Dust unit, there is an extra reason to play Tenrec. We are lowering its Omega Damage to be more in line with its Tier.
Axolotl Line
As Axolotl deals damage only if the shield survives until the end, having the shield last longer on higher stages was more of an impediment rather than an upgrade. We are reducing the duration of the shield on all Stages so it has a higher chance to actually explode and deal damage before being destroyed.
Penguin Line
For a Tier 3, Penguin is lacking in power. We are increasing the damage it receives from Omega, as well as its Stage 3 Base Attack Speed.
Terror Bird Line
We are once again showing some love to our Terror Bird. These buffs, combined with the Bloom buffs from the last patch should be enough to make it a worthy Tier 5 unit.
Tiktaalik Line
We are splitting Tiktaalik’s Heal into 2 parts - Instant Heal and Heal Over Time. This allows us to finally give it Omega Power Scaling.
Stage 3 Arcane Lynx
The Stage 3 Arcane Lynxes were slightly reworked - instead of granting bonuses to the allies hit by the wave, they will debuff the enemies hit by it.
Atippo
All the Atippos will now give a Shield to Allies in a Medium Area, like the Water Atippo always did. Also, we are increasing the Hex Radius of the Omega at all Stages.
Basic Synergies
As Basic Synergies are easier to attain, we adjusted their values accordingly and added a whole new threshold level. In short, the old 7 threshold is the new 9 threshold.
We have taken extra care of Synergies that affect Critical Hits and the Dodge Chance, which will also be noticed on Composite Synergies.
Composite Synergies
The Composite Synergies have been adjusted around the new Illuvials, along with the usual Balancing changes. It should also be noted that every single Composite Synergy can now be reached without a bond being required, which should open up a lot more comps.
Tsunami
We’re raising up the numbers of Tsunami as he has not seen too much play lately.
Toxic
Toxic has also slowly fallen behind - we’re bumping its hex radius to increase its impact.
Bloom
Along with the changes done to Terror Bird, Bloom should be in a good spot after these changes.
Shock
Shock damage has been massively reduced to compensate for 2 new units joining the Affinity.
Inferno
We lowered the damage of Inferno as you can now easily get up to Threshold 3.
Tempest
Similar to Spore, Tempest’s Dodge chance will be reduced as its units are now Air as well.
Spore
The Dodge Chance has been lowered to compensate for the fact that Spore Units now have Air affinity as well.
Rogue-Based Composite Synergies
We are reducing the Crit Chance of all the Composite Classes as it was too easy to get close to 100%.
Revenant
We’re hitting Revenant hard this patch, as it was the main enabler of multiple comps. Furthermore, a new Revenant Illuvial is joining our games.
Augments
We’ve adjusted the augments to ensure that all of them are useful in certain scenarios. We’ve also heard your feedback loud and clear, and we got rid of the really strong effects such as “Indomitable” or “Omega Can Crit”.
10 New Augments have also been added to the game, but we’ll let you discover them yourselves!
Bug Fixes
Fixed Pangolin’s Omega animation to properly match with the damage ticks.
Fixed Polar Bear's Omega animation to properly match with the damage tick.
Improved Sloth’s Omega travel speed and animation.
Fixed Turtle’s Omega to root for 3 seconds, as it should, instead of 4.
Fixed a bug with Predator Pounce which was not triggering the blink and damage sometimes.
Fixed Team Builder to only show synergies of the last Stage of a Line (Basic + Composite).
