Voted Proposals Recap
IIP-59 Illuvium Alliance Program
Sponsor: Kieran | Illuvium.
Key Contributors: None.
Discussion: https://discord.com/channels/760344898200666112/1259683342685704293
Result: Approved.
Rationale:
It creates a high-quality affiliate program that encourages larger creators to promote Illuvium and offers a pathway for new creators.
The program is an efficient marketing strategy that aims to grow the player base by attracting new users, not just redistributing revenue from existing ones.
The merit-based payment system ensures only productive creators benefit, reducing financial risk for the DAO.
Monitoring is necessary to ensure the program’s effectiveness.
Despite potential conflicts of interest, the program benefits the DAO and incentivizes continuous, high-quality content creation.
IIP-60 Illuvium Gameplay Feature Proposal
Sponsor: Blickter.
Key Contributors: None.
Discussion: https://discord.com/channels/760344898200666112/1257849182635425792
Result: Approved.
Rationale:
It clearly defines the roles of Labs, Community, and Council, ensuring each entity focuses on its strengths.
It addresses the previous lack of structure in the IIP process, providing clarity on what the DAO can propose and how Labs can implement it.
The introduction of a two-step approval process prevents wasted resources by ensuring that only feasible and community-supported ideas move forward.
This change simplifies the process for suggesting gameplay features, allowing Labs to act on community ideas efficiently without constant revisions or additional proposals.
The proposal enhances collaboration and streamlines game development.
GFP-1 Training Grounds, Illuvial Staking and TrainingDex
Sponsor: Dr.Spoon.
Key Contributors: Filow, Scoriox, MegaRatty, HappyBallz.
Discussion: https://discord.com/channels/760344898200666112/1265287128095395861
Result: Approved.
Rationale:
Strong community engagement, refinement through multiple IIP proposals, and weeks of discussions.
The proposal positively impacts training, staking, and market structures, making it an additive feature.
Labs will evaluate, design, and integrate the concepts, ensuring a clean fit into the game.
This process highlights the success of GFPs, enabling community feedback in game design without the restrictions of IIPs.
The proposal represents a victory for decentralized governance and community-driven game development.
The core ideas have potential for economic integration between games and merit exploration for implementation by Labs.
IIP-61 Fuel Allocation for Marketing Purposes
Sponsor: Kieran | Illuvium
Key Contributors: None.
Discussion: https://discord.com/channels/760344898200666112/1265173455955824682
Result: Approved.
Rationale:
It provides a cost-effective way to market Illuvium by giving influencers access to fuel, allowing them to create engaging content.
Allocating fuel directly to influencers avoids unnecessary market buybacks, conserving resources for the DAO.
Ensuring that fuel cannot be resold or manipulated eliminates market risks, making this a safe strategy to promote the Illuvium ecosystem.
This approach supports the growth of the player base, which is crucial for the game's success.
The allocation is not excessive, and responsible use of fuel by influencers can drive more value to the DAO.
ICCP-17 Amendment to IIP-45-R Land Revenue Share Distribution Method
Sponsor: Kieran | Illuvium.
Key Contributors: None.
Discussion: https://discord.com/channels/760344898200666112/1265601592476831787
Result: Approved.
Rationale:
It focuses on simplifying post-launch processes, which aligns with current priorities.
Switching from a buyback method to an ETH airdrop based on in-game activities is fairer and reduces technical complexity.
This change lowers the risk of market manipulation and stockpiling during buybacks, ensuring a more stable system.
It eliminates the issue of the DAO purchasing fuel from itself at peak prices, improving the efficiency of revenue distribution.
The amendment benefits the DAO and landowners by streamlining the compensation process, making it more transparent and effective.
ICCP-18 Threshold Changes to IIP-22 Revenue Distribution
Sponsor: ScrubaDubDad.
Key Contributors: Kieran | Illuvium.
Discussion: https://discord.com/channels/760344898200666112/1267722315488301086
Result: Approved.
Rationale:
It has benefits in lowering the threshold for more frequent buybacks, supporting the token's price, and providing regular returns to investors.
It minimizes the risk of frontrunning by traders and enhances market stability through predictable and regular buybacks.
The original 500 ETH threshold was set under different market conditions; adjusting to a 150 ETH threshold aligns with current needs.
This change does not alter the fundamental mechanisms but ensures more frequent and effective revenue distributions.
IIP-62 Streamlining the Onboarding Experience for New Illuvium Players
Sponsor: Patate.
Key Contributors: None.
Discussion: https://discord.com/channels/760344898200666112/1267636909253988446
Result: Approved.
Rationale:
It simplifies the player experience, making it easier for new players to enter their preferred game mode.
The proposal demonstrates the value of community-driven governance, enabling direct influence on game development for quality-of-life improvements.
IIP-63 Dynamic Survival Mode
Sponsor: !Caveman.
Key Contributors: Kieran | Illuvium.
Discussion: https://discord.com/channels/760344898200666112/1267866392057872466
Result: Declined.
Rationale:
Labs is already developing a dynamic survival mode to fix the multi-accounting exploit. It is counterproductive to propose changes for a feature that is already in progress. This proposal might delay the solution, which is time-sensitive.
The complete removal of survival wave points is too extreme. While addressing exploiters is necessary, wiping points retroactively could cause more harm than a balanced adjustment to point values.
Preferred Solution: Support ICCP-XX Airdrop Points Revision for a more equitable approach. Exploit fixes should remain under Labs' purview, and retroactive changes should be carefully reconsidered.
Major Discussions
Add Cooldown to Overworld Runs - Anti Cheat
Author: Web3GamingTv.
Upvotes: 26.
Downvotes: 0.
Objective:
Introduce a 3-10 minute cooldown between starting a run and traveling again to reduce the effectiveness of auto-scanning and teleporting cheats. This cooldown will not impact normal players but will make cheats less advantageous, reducing the need for an auto-scan feature.
Additionally, it hinders multi-account exploitation by lowering efficiency.
