Voted Proposals Recap
[DECLINED] IIP-67 Ensuring Fair leaderboard rewards for Illuvium Beyond
[PASSED] IIP-69 Illuvium Beyond - Leaderboards and Rewards Structure Redesign
The Illuvium Council chose to move from IIP-67 to the more comprehensive IIP-69 to establish a rewards structure that supports both immediate fairness and long-term ecosystem health. While IIP-67 addressed short-term fairness by proposing a compensation plan for past leaderboard participants, it was seen as a temporary solution that didn't address the evolving needs of the Illuvium Beyond platform. Council members felt that simply distributing paused rewards without a broader plan could create a cycle of ad-hoc fixes without addressing underlying structural concerns, like engagement and ecosystem sustainability.
IIP-69, by contrast, introduced a robust framework that included expanded leaderboard ranks, weekly rewards, and incentives tied to Wave 3 sales performance, making it a scalable solution that could support Illuvium Beyond’s growth. This approach also aligns with feedback from the community and council members who sought a fair, incentive-based model that rewards active participation rather than asset holding alone. By prioritizing a structure that rewards meaningful engagement—such as ranking achievements and competitive play—the council aims to create a sustainable environment that balances the interests of both current players and newcomers, while fostering lasting loyalty and engagement.
[PASSED] IIP-66-R Remove the Bonus Fuel System
The IIP-66-R proposal, focused on removing the bonus fuel system and introducing a minimum order size for fuel trades, passed with strong support. Originally implemented to provide perceived discounts on fuel, the bonus system created unintended confusion and volatility, making it difficult for players to determine fuel’s actual cost. By eliminating this system, the proposal aims to bring clarity and consistency to the fuel market, enhancing transparency for all users.
The council backed this move due to the system’s complexity and inefficiencies, which hindered effective pricing and trading. Many felt that the simplified approach—replacing the bonus system with a transparent market price and setting a minimum order size in multiples of 20—would streamline the trading experience and prevent rounding losses. Some council members suggested additional features, like historical pricing visuals, to further support player decisions, but ultimately saw the immediate changes in IIP-66-R as essential steps toward a more stable and predictable fuel market.
[PASSED] IIP-68 Move ILV Rewards into Treasury
The IIP-68 proposal moved the remaining ILV from the rewards program into the Illuvium DAO Treasury. This consolidation aims to strengthen the Treasury, improving financial flexibility for future capital raises and better supporting essential operational costs. By centralizing ILV management under the Treasury, governed by the council, the DAO gains greater control over strategic allocations, enabling rewards and incentives to align more closely with long-term goals.
The council favored this approach due to the enhanced financial position it projects, which is expected to instill investor confidence and extend the DAO’s financial runway. Council members highlighted that consolidating ILV funds allows the DAO to maintain a sustainable development path, supporting core gameplay, tournaments, and leaderboards, while reducing the monthly burn rate. Though this may temporarily reduce stakers' claims on revenue distributions, the council prioritized establishing a stable financial foundation for Illuvium’s continued growth and success.
