Illuvium Overworld & Arena Patch Notes v1.1.0

Illuvium Arena & Overworld Patch - Coming Next Week!

Rangers,

The weekend is coming, and we wanted to get the community some light reading material. So, get ready for some exciting updates! The Arena and Overworld patch is dropping next week and will be a good one! Bringing new fixes, improvements and even something new for Gauntlet mode!? Here's what's in store:

General Updates:

  • IMX Plugin Update: We've updated the IMX plugin to the latest version for improved performance and to fix some issues experienced with craft orders.

  • Client Restart for IMX Issues: The game client will automatically restart if IMX burn issues are detected.

  • Forge Enhancements: A new Illuvidex link direct to items is now available in the forge.

  • Bug Fixes: A few minor bugs have been squashed to improve gameplay.

Overworld Economy Updates:

The spawn weights for illuvials have had a significant overhaul along with other changes to keep the full collection cost balanced

  • Higher-stage Illuvials are much more common (this change was already enacted in the previous backend patch)

  • Fusion costs for Tier 5 Illuvials have been increased by 50%

  • The curing cost for Resplendent Shards has been decreased from 1200 to 1000

  • Region Stage 1 and 2 have been brought much closer to Region Stage 3 in terms of net expected value per cost (this was primarily enacted in the previous backend patch)

For context, with the above, the cost to obtain all Set1 illuvial outside of marketplace actions is expected to be largely the same as before. The premise is that fusing to obtain them all is the more economical path before and after the changes. However, the path of capturing to obtain them all was much more expensive, and the gap between those two has been brought down significantly.

Note: The cost to obtain them all is weighted mainly by obtaining all Tier 5 illuvials and, to a lesser extent, Tier 4 illuvials. This is helped by higher net shard costs for high tier high stage Illuvials and the increased fusing costs. Therefore the valuation for higher tiers should be essentially unchanged. Low-tier, high-stage illuvials should be much more abundant.

Arena Updates:

General Arena:

  • Synergy Fixes: Fixed an issue where Synergies would overlap when holding "Shift".

  • Projectile Animations: Improved animations for Illuvial projectiles.

  • Hex Grid Fix: Resolved instances where the hex grid would remain visible after battle phases.

  • Drone Selection: You can now select a drone in the loadout!

  • Health Bars: Health bars are now smaller and display the Stage of the Illuvial.

  • Card Spacing: No more gaps between cards—no more zooming in/out while scrolling through your team.

  • Stacking Vulnerabilities: Multiple stacks of vulnerability are now stacked correctly.

  • Rogue Movement: Rogues can no longer fit between hexes where they shouldn't be able to.

  • Augment Stacking: Augment bonuses now properly stack if two of the same are used on a unit.

  • Buff/Debuff Calculations: Buffs and debuffs are now calculated from the "Current" stats rather than the "Base" stats.

  • Hex Size Adjustments: Small adjustments were made to the hex size of some S2 and S3 units.

  • Grokko Omega Radius: Increase the Grokko Stage 1 Omega radius to ensure it hits its target.

Survival:

  • Randomized Runs: Every run is now random—no more daily patterns.

  • Wave Challenge: Wave 40 is no longer the final wave. It's up to you to discover what the new final wave is!

Gauntlet:

  • Hotkey Functionality: Added hotkeys for "Buy XP" (F), "Refresh Shop" (R), and "Sell a Unit" (T).

  • Unit Pickup Fix: Fixed an issue with picking up units right before the Battle Phase starts.

  • Enemy Illuvial Fix: Fixed disappearing enemy Illuvials when clicking on an Augment.

  • Unit Muting: Units from the bench are now muted.

  • End Screen Enhancements: Improved augment tooltips and alignments on the End Screen.

  • Queue UI: Added a UI element to show the number of players in the queue for Gauntlet.

  • Tier 1 Illuvial Availability: Increased the chance of finding T1 Illuvials from level 5 onwards.

  • Unit Availability: Increased the quantity of Illuvials available to buy across all tiers.

  • Auto-Deploy Units: If the board isn't full, the system will automatically drag units from the Bench when the battle starts.

  • General UI Improvements: Various UI tweaks to enhance the overall experience.

Gauntlet Leviathan Mode: Detailed Overview

Gauntlet Leviathan Mode is the ultimate test of your collection and strategy. In this mode, the Illuvials, Weapons, and Suits that appear in your shop are those you own, and their stats reflect their actual power levels. If you do not own the Illuvials, their stats are standardised across the mode. This means owning and levelling up your Illuvials can provide a significant advantage in the game. Here's a closer look at how it works:

1. Owned Unit Display

  • Single Instance Display: Each owned Illuvial, Weapon, or Suit can only be present once in the Shop, Bench, or Board. This ensures that your owned units won't show up multiple times in the shop simultaneously.

  • Shop Availability: As long as an owned unit is on the Bench, Board, or Armoury, it won't appear in the shop again until it is sold or fused.

  • Returning to the Shop: Once an owned unit is sold or fused into the next stage, it becomes eligible to appear in the shop again, similar to how units are returned to the Shared Pool in other modes.

  • Priority Display: The highest-level version of each owned unit is prioritized for display. For example, if you own multiple Atlases at different levels, the highest-level one will appear in the shop first.

2. Unit Levels

  • Retained Levels: Owned units retain their levels when they appear in the shop, giving you a strategic edge based on your collection.

  • Unowned Units: Unowned units in the shop will always be at Level 1.

3. Shop Refresh Behavior

  • Dynamic Recalculation: Each time you refresh the shop, it recalculates which units to display based on the current owned units and those on the bench or board. This means that units already on your Bench or Board are excluded from appearing in the shop again until they are sold or fused.

4. Selling and Reappearance

  • Shop Reappearance: When you sell a unit from the bench or board, or when a unit is fused into the next stage, it becomes eligible to reappear in the shop during future refreshes.

5. Higher Stages

  • Stage 2 and 3 Units: Higher stage Illuvials (Stages 2 and 3) cannot be bought directly from the shop. The highest-level version you own of an Illuvial will appear first, and subsequent appearances will follow the same priority, with unowned units showing at Level 1.

6. Weapons and Suits

  • Similar Mechanics: Weapons and Suits function similarly to Illuvials in Leviathan mode. The highest-level versions you own will appear first and remain unavailable in the shop while they are equipped or on the Bench.

Example 1:

  • You own one Level 23 Atlas. The first Atlas to appear in the shop will be the Level 23 Atlas.

  • If you refresh the shop, a second Atlas might appear, but it will be a Level 1 unowned Atlas.

  • If you buy the Level 23 Atlas and a Level 1 Atlas, the next refresh will only show Level 1 Atlases since your Level 23 Atlas is now on the bench or board.

  • If you sell the Level 23 Atlas, it will become eligible to appear in the shop again in future refreshes.

Example 2:

  • You own two Atlases, one Level 21 and one Level 27.

  • When you refresh the shop, the Level 27 Atlas will appear first, followed by the Level 21 Atlas, and then a Level 1 unowned Atlas.

  • If you buy the Level 27 Atlas, the next refresh will only show the Level 21 Atlas and a Level 1 Atlas since the Level 27 Atlas is on your bench or board.

  • If you sell the Level 27 Atlas, it will reappear in the shop during future refreshes.

Example 3:

  • You own four Atlases at Levels 2, 4, 6, and 8.

  • The first three Atlases in the shop will be Levels 8, 6, and 4.

  • If you buy the Level 6 and 4 Atlases and fuse them into a higher-stage Illuvial, the original Atlases will be returned to the shop and can be found again.

  • The next time you refresh, the highest-level remaining Atlases (Level 8 and Level 2) will appear in the shop.

Key Takeaways:

  • Strategic Advantage: Owning and levelling up your Illuvials, Weapons, and Suits will give you a significant advantage in Leviathan Mode.

  • No Repeats: You won’t see the same owned unit multiple times in the shop, and units on your bench or board are excluded from the shop until sold or fused.

  • Dynamic Gameplay: The shop refreshes dynamically based on your owned units, making every decision impactful.

Leviathan Mode is designed to reward players who invest in their collections, making strategy and planning more crucial than ever. Prepare your best Illuvials, and dominate the Gauntlet!
