Illuvium: Overworld Beta 3 v0.3.0 Patch Notes
Patch Notes Overworld 0.3.0
Hello and welcome to the Overworld patch notes; whilst Overworld is not the primary focus of this release, and some features have been held back, there are still very significant changes and improvements to the Overworld. Please note that the Overworld remains in a closed beta state; players who had access to it historically will keep access, but new players will need to be granted access at the team's discretion.

New Gameplay Features
Fusion Flow
Fusion has seen a visual revamp; fusion is an incredibly critical aspect of the Overworld experience, and we’re keen to give it the impact it deserves. This is still a rough draft but a significant improvement that we were keen to get into your hands. Please note that now we’ve added XP, Fusion will require significantly more playtime, and you’ll need to level up your Illuvials.
New ranger
We’re in the process of adding the character creator, but it’s still in the very early stages of development. We’ve been able to squeeze a new male character into the game and give you a taste of what is coming.
Vaulting
In our quest to improve movement, we saw players getting stuck on minor objects and finding it frustrating. We’ve added vaulting; should you walk into a low object or miss a jump, your character will climb over most objects.
Nanitic Discord
Illuvials now get tired, using Illuvials in Encounter and Illuvials defeated in encounters now receive nanitic discord. If they receive too much, they will receive significant debuffs in combat, and should you force them further - they will be unable to fight at all. You can fix them up with certain Consumables.
Consumables
When Harvesting plants you’ll receive Consumables, these can be fed to your Illuvials to give bonuses in Encounters and to fix nanitic discord.
Encounter Mods
We’re increasing the difficulty of Encounters in the Overworld. We want players to have to grind and build powerful teams to be able to farm higher Stage regions. One of our chief ways to do this is via Encounter mods. These mods greatly increase the power of wild Illuvials with higher Stage regions having both more mods and more powerful mods.
Illuvial Experience
Illuvials now gain experience as you use them in the Overworld. Higher-level Illuvials gain additional stats, and experience is required for Fusion.
Random Stats
Each Illuvial should be unique; on capture, Illuvials now randomly roll 5 values. These values affect the stats of the Illuvials.
Attack Power - Modifies Attack Damage and Attack Speed
Crit Power - Modifies Crit Chance and Crit Amp
Defence Power - Modifies Max Health, Physical Resist and Energy Resist
Omega Power - Modifies Omega Power and Initial Energy
Overall Power - Increases the bonuses from the other Random Stats.
Inventory Overhaul
We’ve removed the locker storage and unified it with the player inventory. You can now outfit yourself from your inventory to create the team you’ll use whilst travelling.
Economy and Loot Changes
Encounter tweaks
Encounter spawning behaviour has been changed; we’ve updated the algorithm as to which Illuvials spawn to make it a bit more fair and to allow us to make more nuanced changes in future.
Deposit Changes
We’ve changed all the spawn weights for deposits and split them into two types. Mini and Mega deposits. Mini deposits can be mined just once and don’t require you to hold E; Mega deposits are intended to be mined repeatedly. We’ve made these changes to improve game flow and increase the time players spend moving.
Harvesting Changes
In line with our goals to improve game flow, we’ve made Harvesting a single keypress rather than forcing players to hold E.
Ergon Rifts
We’ve added Ergon rifts; these are always present in the world but can only be picked up after Overload. They grant you additional Ergon energy should you pass through them, allowing you to acquire more loot!
Improvements
We have a significant amount of improvements across all aspects of the game. The sheer number of them make it very hard to include them in patch notes, so we’ll just be including a short overview here.
